New urban planning needs new system

It is a very fresh and interesting thing to set the principles for the cities in the future, but can the existing cities really turn these principles into reality? In recent years, some newly started industrial facilities have given the answer.

For example, Ford Motor Company renovated and expanded the Rouge Center in Dearborn, Michigan, a large, historic car and truck manufacturing center that has been transformed into an exemplary sustainable factory . Ford's master plan includes a green roof of 10 acres (about 4 hectares), with which it has expanded a wetland park system. Inside the pavement with a water-permeable material laying, there are hedgerows and ecological regulation ditch. The renovation project transformed this already over 100-year-old dirty factory into a vibrant rainwater ecosystem that purifies the sewage collected and slowly releases it to the nearby Rizhao River, thus improving the watershed Health. A week after the rebuilding, the local double collar came back to nest.
