Every[night] Urbanism

This past summer, I lived in Washington DC. Halfway through the semester, we had two new interns start working at the office. So naturally we all went out to celebrate their first weekend in DC.

That Friday night, I took the bus down to U St where we all met at the Music Hall (early enough to avoid the cover charge). We all paid for overpriced drinks and danced to the typical EDM music. Then we stumbled our way to another bar that had three different floors of dancing (each with a different genre of music). It was overcrowded with a ridiculous amount of people pretending they could dance. Not bumping into someone was impossible as you navigated your way through this sea of uncoordinated dancers to make your way to more alcohol. When the bar was finally closing around 3AM, we made our way to the closest “pizza by the slice” place. Where we all bought giant slices of pizza (which we topped with unnecessary amounts of parmesan cheese and pepper flakes) and proceeded to crash on the nearest doorstep to eat the best pizza of our lives (at the time) listening to Childish Gambino at 4AM.

Just your average night.
