Education, not Architecture
Arguments by Mohsen Mostafavi about sustainability and its practicality suggest larger scale implementation than within architecture. Mostafavi suggests rather than making smart buildings, we need to make smart people.
Education about our environmental issues and the solutions that exist to mitigate them should be widespread. It should be taught in schools, talked about more on the news, even find more prevalence in social media. Maybe Facebook ought to create a quiz on climate change and lock out all of its users until they pass the test. I agree with Mostafavi that climate change and the future of our planet lies in education, not architecture.
