Net Zero Sustainability Design
Found this while researching for Vincent's class and found it extremely interesting (especially relating to haiti's climate).

It has several passive strategies to help the building run independently. One of the most interesting facts is that " After five years of operation, the net zero energy targets are being met and occupants are benefiting from the increased visual and thermal comfort." I remember in class we talked about sustainability but also talked about it's impact to the user and the environment in the future..

I think this is what we should strive for as a profession. Not necessarily to be net-zero but to consider the actual well-being of our users to the highest degree. To provide our clients with buildings that legitimately better their health.
ReplyDeleteI always think about people that live at higher elevation and how big of an advantage that would be for athletics, etc..This is like the built version of that!
