Postmodernism with its bright colors and
sensational display effect has become a hot spot in the media. However, Postmodernism
has not changed the substantive aspects of modernist design. It only makes some
superficial articles in the design of modernism or does some revision for the
modernist design. Thus, postmodernism tends to equate more and more with one certain
style. To some extents, they are symbols, tricks, and fun stuff like stage
sets. Postmodernism focuses only on the formal content of the design to explore
the purity and romance that exist in creative disorder. When part of the
post-modern design language has become a fashion-making tool, it naturally
marries the commercial entertainment world.
Postmodernism does try to attempt a different approach than Modernism. Where Modernism was unconcerned with the human other than its proportions, Postmodernism atleast does try to understand and relate to its context. Therefore it does try to change Modernism fundamentally.
