Everyday
At 6:00am I wake up, fall out of bed, put on shirt, wash my face, and prepare breakfast. I eat while watching videos on YouTube, looking at memes on Imgur, or finishing reading assignments forgotten the night before. At 7:30am I remove myself from my computer, put my plate and utensils in the sink to be washed later, and return to my bedroom to get dressed. At 8:00am, I gather my things and leave the apartment, locking the door as I depart. (On Tuesdays and some Thursdays, weather and deadlines permitting, I enjoy walking to campus, and therefore do not depart until 9:45am)
As I make my way to campus, I am joined by countless other people, many in cars like mine, some walking, others riding bikes, each on their own journey. I pass fast food restaurants, bars, apparel shops, even a daycare. I go through six intersections, stopping at most, before entering campus. I drive through campus, passing Death Valley, until I reach my preferred parking lot. I park in space 147 (Such a fun number) grab my bag, lock the car, and make my way up the hill to Lee III, typically around 8:25am.
From 8:30am to 5:30pm I play solitaire on my laptop.
At 5:30pm (or whenever) I leave Lee III, return to my car, and leave campus, passing much the same as when I arrived in the morning. I return to my apartment around 6:00pm, and proceed to start up my computer, preheat my oven, take a shower, and cook dinner. By 6:45pm dinner is ready, which I consume while watching a stream on Twitch. When finished, I clean off my plate and wash the dirty dishes and utensils accrued through the day. From 7:30pm on, activities are quite varied, and include such things as reading for history, playing a video game, or modeling ramps in Revit (pants off of course). At some point between 10:30pm and 1:00am I retire to my bedroom to read until I eventually fall asleep.
At 6:00am I wake up....
What's your best time? I've been clocked at 1:12:36 before
ReplyDeleteI can imagine how many things happened in everyone's everyday life. Decisions you need to make every moment for everyday. How many times you want to relax and enjoy something. And there are things you want to do, have to do, or don't want to do, but you have to face with it.
ReplyDeleteFirst of all, respect for you being able to get up at 6am in the morning every day. Jimmy doesn't wake up at 6am for anything. Second, even though this was what would seem to be a rote list of your daily activities and how you move through the world (as everyday "urbanist" as you can get in Clemson, SC), I found it that it really captured my interest. As someone who's seen you play countless games of solitaire out of the corner of my eye in studio, remind me to take you with me if I ever go to Vegas or something.
ReplyDeleteThis post is poetry.
ReplyDeleteEveryone seems have the right of the control of their life. However, most of us still lead a loop life everyday just like what you do.
