GPA does it even matter?
In class we talked about whether or not GPA matters at this point. To some it does to some it doesn't. Did it even matter in the first place? Why should architecture have a GPA if it is subjective? So what if you don't get an A on your project it could be your favorite one and shining star of your portfolio. Oh no! your professor gave you a B or C for a project? You can still use it for competitions and portfolio. Most employers don't care about GPA. Firms typically don't care about GPA either so why should it matter especially in the last semester of grad school unless you plan on continuing in academia?
IT DOESN'T MATTER.
What matters the most is you are happy with your work and grew from it. In 20 years no one is going to care about what your GPA in college was, they are going to care about who you are and what you know.
Hey Rachel!
ReplyDeleteI will have to agree to disagree with your blog if I may...
I complete agree that a grade does not define a person, but to a certain extend it does. Its true, "C's get degrees", but to they get in the the school of there choose or land the internship they wanted? When pertaining to scholarships or financial assistance. Who does one draw the line between tow candidates with similar portfolios? In the end, what matters is that that the project was successful, but wouldn't hurt.
