Climate Pro Forma
What would our built environment look like if architectural submittals were required by a city planning or government agency to show adequate design responses to the site's climate before a project breaks ground?
While this would undoubtedly create complexities and challenges among different agencies through reaching a collective agreement on a set of standards to meet, I believe this industry-wide adoption and commitment to sustainable design approaches in response to solar, wind, and rainfall would stimulate design conversation, inform clients, and even provide teachable moments for the greater public.
