GENTRIFICATION IS ANNOYING
I understand that halting gentrification is a complex issue in today's world. One of the main challenges is that gentrification is often driven by broader economic trends, such as globalization and urbanization, that are difficult to reverse. Additionally, many gentrification projects are spearheaded by developers and investors seeking profits, rather than the needs and wants of the local community. This can result in the displacement of long-term residents and the erosion of local culture and identity. Moreover, there is often a lack of political will or funding to support community-led initiatives that prioritize affordable housing and cultural preservation. As such, finding a comprehensive and sustainable solution to gentrification requires collaboration between diverse stakeholders, such as architects, urban planners, policy makers, and community activists and it is truly impossible to know how the future will play out. As a future architect I must strive to create better situations in my own local communities to make a true difference.
