Best of Both Worlds, Maybe?
I
found it intriguing how two views to modern architectural language and its
relationship to theory was separated so intently when there may be a sort of
reliance on one another, especially in the way architects practice today. I found
that the comparison of Indexical Architecture and Projective architecture to be
interesting, especially in the modes of architectural practice (in practice
and in education) it’s a balance of both. Particularly in school, we use architectural
theory to assist in concept development. Projective architectural approaches
aid in the conceptual design and Indexical architectural approaches assist in further
explaining the architectural solution.
