Theories of Old Impressing on the New

I found it very interesting being able to see how the various theories we’re learning about have impacted our relationship with architecture today. For example, the diagramming we’re so familiar with being taught throughout our architecture education was only recently developed by Peter Eisenman. Different schools of thought from the past have shaped exactly how the younger generation thinks about architecture. It was very interesting hearing about the boolean operations we learned so much about in my undergraduate at Clemson as atypical for design. It’ll be interesting to see what other people have done to shape our current perception of architecture to something that was completely different from 30 years ago. I’m also curious to see how new discoveries or ideologies that are being explored now might have an effect on the way we teach the next generation of architects.
