eSpace vs Urban public space

The trend for future life is promising us many privacy. Everything could be done online, literally everything: working, shopping, ordering food, calling taxi, flirting or even people-watch, maybe next step for app developers are to study how to sleep or have sex on your phone. 

Back from being extreme, even we are still far away from staying in one little cell, sleeping but imagine our daily routines (The Matrix), we are heading towards that direction. We do not have to make as much as human contacts as before in order to survive. Maybe in the near future, the new public meeting place is not ABC Square, DEF Piazza or XYZ Station, but becomes a network of digital data that could represent your mind (The Ghost in the Shell). 

E-social activities have enriched and the changed our lives. Smart phone will become the new town square. 

However, shall we allow this to continue? If architects do not take their roles in designing, and maximizing the roles of meaningful urban space that will attract urban users, psychical public space WILL disappear, without us even knowing, because we will live perfectly fine,
