Jean Nouvel - Nemausus (week 6)
Social/affordable housing is an ever inflating issue. The Nemausus is a good example of how affordable housing was created with a sense of community. Having spaces outside as public for interaction and social activities and inside as private personal reflection is great. But, as cities adhere to change with some rapidly growing and others quickly diminishing, what/where is the solution for affordable housing. ‘Rurban’ areas are become more popular for factories due to tak breaks, leaving people in the city without jobs and lack or transit to get outside of the city. How/can architecture address this?
