Making Architecture Relevant Through Scarcity
In the article "Scarcity contra Austerity," Jeremy Till writes on the scarcity and austerity within architecture today. It seems that within the idea of "less is more" there becomes a pseudo-identity of real sustainable decisions benefiting the environment. However, in today's society global consumerism continues to challenge "endless growth" which "is impossible in the context of finite resources. It seems scarcity is a condition that encourages and challenges ideologies.
