Junkspace is also outdoors
Junk space can be defined as an interior space where people tend to hang out with no intended purpose. I feel these spaces are no different to some exterior spaces as well. A park is a place people hang out but it is located outdoors. There is not a real purpose of being there rather than experiencing the scenery. The mall is the gold standard example for what junk space is, but all a mall is an interior park where the scenery is the marketplace. An urban plaza or a large lobby is another great example of other junk spaces found on the outside. In my opinion Junk space
can be outdoors as well.
Roger,
ReplyDeleteI think junkspace can be found outdoors, but I think that outdoors is one place that still exists where people can enjoy space as it is, without having to give it a junky purpose. Junkspace seems to limit access to the outdoors, where everything is covered with a bubble because apparently people hate being outside. I hope parks and plazas continue to be enjoyed by people, as outdoor junkspace is definitely better than indoor junkspace.
