Memory and Architecture
Envelopes are the first things people see when experiencing architecture. However, most people's experience with a space is with the interior of a building. My favorite part of this lecture was how the atmosphere is approached as a non-material quality of a space, making it inherently emotional. I truly enjoyed The Weather Project in London. The overall aura makes me think about how memorable this experience would be. This then made me think about memory and the association of spaces with it. Most of the time, a memory is linked with architecture and used as a reflection of its context as expressed by Alejandro Zaera in The Politics of the Envelope: A Political Critique of Materialism.
