Sacrificing Beauty

In "Aesthetics and Sustainability: Alternatives",  Inaki Abalos discusses the importance of sustainable design and how sustainable design can be integrated with the aesthetic of the building and how they can compliment each other. Approaching it as a new challenge for emerging professionals on the innovation and creativity in achieving both aesthetic and sustainable goals. Making us question and encouraging us to explore alternative design solutions that prioritize environmental performance without sacrificing artistic expression. Being that we were required to use sustainable strategies in COTE and now continuing this integration in our Comp studio, do you feel this knowledge is something that you can bring into your future careers and successfully integrate this into your design without sacrificing the aesthetics? Is this something that you see now?

  1. I think that a sustainable perspective is not only something we can bring into our careers, but something that we will need to be able to integrate in our professional work. I think a true talent of some of the best designers is being able to integrate these sustainable principles without sacrificing on aesthetics.
