The American Dream (or Nightmare?)
The American dream - a pretty house with full green grass and a white picket fence. Sounds great, but suburban homes in the 1950’s were constructed quickly which brings up the question of quality. Levittown is a perfect example of this question of quality as the builders of these communities would often construct 11 homes a day. Unless they have a massive team, they had to have been taking shortcuts. Even today, suburban homes are built quickly and are not at the same quality as a custom built home would be. So is the American dream really a dream, or is it a nightmare waiting to happen?
