Facades do drive architecture but haven’t they always?

When I think about this topic I believe that for the most of the history Facades have played a major role in architecture. I was going through a general google search and came across images of some traditional homes, it made me think architects at that time did make concessions with the floor plans to accommodate the illusion of this grandness and type of architecture they were trying to imitate. Architecture I believe for the longest time has been a game of to and fro just like fashion, sometimes we believe the architecture must be as transparent as it can be , inside should flow to the outside and much more. Sometimes it is vice versa. But let’s all admit we all would want to live in those houses just for experience or fun, at least me even as an architect sometimes tend to judge a building by the exterior look of it.
