Pier Life
So I don’t know if anyone’s
been to the Pier or seen it, but that’s where I’m living this semester. And it’s
kind of set up like a mini-neighborhood. The location is pulled away from campus
(or pretty much anything), and is slightly isolated. There are rows of houses
set up very similarly to a suburb, but since it’s just college housing, the houses
look exactly the same. They are just painted different colors. It’s what I imagine the set of a “utopian” (or dystopian?) society would look like.
And honestly it’s very
strange. Because it’s almost like the Pier is trying too hard to look like a “perfect
neighborhood.” It feels rather un-genuine and there’s just a sense of falseness about the whole place. There's this underlying discomfort, and it just irks me.
I have seen this place and it was so disturbing. It looks so fake that it turns kind of creepy
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure Jimmy's housing is in your photos
ReplyDeleteIs this a leased situation, just inquisitive about how much are the owner allowed to change their houses!
