The ins and outs of architecture.
In todays architecture we have began a paradigm shift of looking at buildings from the entire form to a focus more concentrated on the interior or exterior. Its undeniable that today we have buildings that have interiors that reflect very little of what we see of the exterior of the building. We have moved to where the facade can have nothing to do with the programing of the building. Historically speaking we all have a generic image embedded into our minds of what a church looks like, however today we have began to even see these buildings shift to designing the facade with no relevance of the interior. My worry is that architecture is slowly losing control or buildings and being pushed into a corner of design that we should fight to get out of. The architect is losing control because of all of the engineering and cross disciplinary work that really limits what it is that an architect can do on the interiors. After structure, mechanical, and all the programming many architects have found that there is very little they can do so they step back entirely which to me is the opposite of what they should do.
