Put Initiative in Cage- The responsibility of the professional

'Therefore the practices of everday urbanism should inevitably lead to social change, not via abstract political ideologies imposed from outside, but instead through specific concerns that arise from the lived experience of different individuals and groups in the city.'
'Lefebvre also indentified immigrants, low-level employees, and teenagers as victims of everyday life, although "never" the same way, never at same time, never all at once.'
'Tactics are the "art of the weak".'
'Our solutions are modest and small in scale- micro-utopias, perhaps, contained in a side walk, a bus bench, or a minipark. In a rare nontotalizing moment.'

If everyone could design and develop their urban space based on their primary need, what can urban planners, architects and landscape designer do to make a living?

Only the users of the building and infrastructure know what they want. Nobody could be aware of it better than them. But if all of them do whatever is for self-benefits, will it be good for everyone? The Urban environment is a public space, and individuals' need is a different one by one, especially in the culture which encourages to emphasize individual's characteristics. Even with the 'tactics' and 'politics' behind it, the ambition and individual differences will generate disorder and chaos on different levels, unless someone in interested in controlling to a higher position with responsibility and required abilities. We may get them only by fortune under this kind of rules.
Then the professional designers who almost lost their job can be a guy to organize the ideas or design works from individual needs. The designers will not provide the big ideas anymore. Instead, they can provide consultant service and use their knowledge bring everything to the real world. This may sound the same as what designers are doing nowadays. The difference is who propose the users' need and big ideas. Now is the designer, who do this for their investigation and experience. In the ideal condition is the users. Therefore, the designers will change their role from a creature to an assistant. And that's may the future of architects in the 'tactic era.'
