is it overdesigning?
Sure, I can grasp the concept of 'everyday life' and design with that in mind. When delving into this concept from De Certeau, I begin to question- when is architecture too overdesigned? This question inherently raises another question of whether over-designing is a thing... anyways- when relating it to everyday practices I begin to wonder, more in terms of strategy. Strategy, seen by De Certeau is more of a method to control, while tactic is a subtle movement. Either way, I still wonder if 'everyday life' is only achievable through places that aren't designed. Perhaps, what lies in the middle ground—spaces intentionally crafted to be "everyday" or "in-between"—poses the final question: Can these spaces embody their intended purpose if they have been consciously designed?
