Slums not Slumming it!!!

 When do slums start becoming slums? This is a tough question because there can be many things that can cause areas to decay into these states. Somehow, these areas still become social hubs for people, no matter the amount of decay. One true thing about these areas is the strong sense of solidarity and mutual support from one another. But that's not the only thing that comes from making the best out of a bad situation. There's also the resilience that comes with it, how community members fix and solve not only economic problems but also simple formal infrastructure issues by simply improvising and using simple ideas like vertical expansion or shared living arrangements. Sometimes being able to make the best out of these situations is by allowing for the small victories to develop into a collection of wins that may eventually lead to change.
