LET THE PEOPLE DESIGN
As aspiring architects, we try to design for everything. We try to incorporate our knowledge in history, psychology, symbology, all while following code, and buildings that withstand the harshest weather, and meeting complex functional and emotional needs of the user. Then we start picking the furniture and imagining -then establishing- on what exactly goes on these spaces. What if we took a step back and analyzed that what we are doing might not be exactly what the people we are designing for need? In the film, A Film About John Habraken, he speaks on his concept for flexible and adaptable architecture that allows for people to morph the architecture to their needs. What if we took a step back and and let the people design with us instead?
