Projective Hedonism?
Projective:
"Relating to the unconscious transfer of one's desires or emotions to another person."
Hedonism:
"The belief that pleasure or happiness is the most important goal in life."
If what we as architects project through our designs are what we believe to be the best solution possible, are we missing the mark on what others think is the best solution possible? I understand that architecture requires collaboration in its pursuit of a project, but can there be more collaboration with the end users of a place? What sort of collaboration could improve the design process and make sure those who are impacted by the doppler effect be taken into consideration with each design? Projective architecture over Critical architecture may be a step in the right direction, but what more can we as architects do to better the design outcome?
