Selling Architecture to the Masses
I feel like popular architecture today is both designed and represented to appeal to the masses - Aka people who will never actually experience the building in person. I'll admit, I'm drawn to the simple diagrams and catchy graphics of many projects that I come across online; however, when I really stop to think about these projects I find myself wondering if I would enjoy being there as much as I enjoy the picture. In many ways, architecture today can be dumbed-down by the desire to produce a simple, striking building that everyone gets at first glance. But isn't there much more to architecture than that?
