UGLY always turns to BEAUTIFUL - architecturally
I think that with the global unrest and immigration crises, we are going to have to move to this ugly, economical, architecture for the common people. I feel that, with an market crash on the horizon, architects will have to turn to this architecture. For pay? Probably not. But for necessity, for even themselves potentially. Once this becomes the cultural norm, maybe only in some places, not yet globally, then it will become pretty - beautiful even. Either we architects will find more aesthetically pleasing ways to satisfy these demands of the common man, or it will culturally be considered beautiful, having morphed in our minds into a style we admire. This is what happened with modernism after all. It was not accepted by most until it was preferred my the wealthy and became a sought after style.
